Letter K
These students are reading their sight word books to each other.
We talked about what courage is and how they can have courage. They came up with a great list of ideas!
We have been working on teen umber being 10 and some more. Here they have one group of 10 and had to draw how many ones on to make the teen number.
The kids are now spelling all the words in their journals by themselves!!!
These we some examples for our Martin Luther King Jr. day and their dreams for the world.
This week in their journal they thought up a whole sentence by themselves!! They used our word wall of sight words as well as sounding out to write their sentences. I was so impressed at what they came up with!

Here are some examples of using our chips to add. They put them out and counted how many red, how many yellow, and how many all together.
We read The Kissing Hand and drew pictures of the beginning, middle and end of the story. They thought up great pictures to represent the beginning, middle and end.
Here we are using our board and finding the beginning letter of words.
Letter B week
During circle time we talked about what we might see at the park that starts with B. They came up with some great ideas.
Here we were working on ways to make 10.
We did bear math! The kids used the bear in partners to do addition and subtraction. They did an awesome job!
Here they are sounding out B words in their word study books.
Our five senses science experiment. We talked about sense of smell and taste. We went over how the sense of smell affects our sense of taste. They ate one things while smelling another. It was great to see what they discovered.
Here is what they thought before and after our experiment. Before they thought taste was stronger, after they thought smell was a stronger sense.
